Story Kit Collection Circulation Policy

  1. Story Kits are limited to 2 per family.
  2. Story Kits are checked out for 14 days and cannot be renewed.
  3. The Tales From Other Lands Story Kits, Lincoln Legacy Learning Kits, and the IDNR Backpacks are checked out with a public library card.
  4. To request an IDNR Trunk, call or check at the front desk of the Sallie Logan Public Library. These trunks are picked up and returned directly to the library. You do not need a library card to checkout the IDNR Trunks. When you use the trunks you fill out a borrowers form. You can only checkout one trunk at a time. (These trunks are NOT cataloged in the database.) Use the following phone number to reserve: 618-684-3271.
  5. Fines for overdue Story Kits are $1.00/day.
  6. None of the items listed in this booklet can be returned in the book drop.
  7. The library reserves the right to limit how many Story Kits can be requested at one time by a library or a school.

*The IDNR Trunks come in a large plastic containers, and are filled with field guides, CD-ROMs, a DVD, fur samples, skulls, track and scat replicas, lessons, activity sheets, posters and other items. Suggested grades: PreK - Middle School.

*The IDNR Backpacks (Field Packs) include many items to assist your early childhood students as they explore nature. Hands-on equipment will encourage self-initiated learning. Suggestions for teachers on how to incorporate natural-resources activities into your lessons are also included.

*Tales From Other Lands Story Kits, in general, include: 3-6 books, 1-2 dvd's, a puppet, resource guide.
